Planetary rulership

Planetary rulership is the link that assigns each sign a so-called ruling planet: Mars for Aries, Venus for Taurus and Libra, Mercury for Gemini and Virgo, and so on. The traditional system stops at Saturn; modern astrologers added Uranus to Aquarius, Neptune to Pisces and Pluto to Scorpio. The ruler of the rising sign, called the chart ruler, is considered especially important.
