Exaltation

Exaltation is an essential dignity: a planet is exalted in a sign where, according to tradition, it expresses itself in a particularly honored way, like a guest of honor. The classical exaltations are the Sun in Aries, the Moon in Taurus, Mercury in Virgo, Venus in Pisces, Mars in Capricorn, Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Libra. The opposite sign is the planet's fall.
