Domicile

Also rulership · planet in domicile · planet in its own sign

A planet is in domicile when it occupies the sign it rules, such as Mars in Aries or Venus in Taurus. It is the foremost of the essential dignities: tradition holds that the planet acts there with ease, coherence and full strength, as if at home. Domicile is the counterpart of detriment, which lies in the opposite sign.
