Stanislas de Guaita

Also Guaita

Stanislas de Guaita (1861-1897) was a French poet and occultist, co-founder in 1888 of the Kabbalistic Order of the Rose-Cross. He commissioned Oswald Wirth, his secretary, to create the twenty-two so-called kabbalistic Major Arcana published in 1889, following the guidance of Éliphas Lévi. He was a figure of late nineteenth-century Parisian occultism, in the circle of Papus.
