Petit Lenormand
Also Lenormand · Lenormand deck · Lenormand oracle · Petit Jeu de Mlle Lenormand
The Petit Lenormand is a divination deck of 36 numbered cards, each bearing a simple image (the Rider, the House, the Heart, the Cross…) and often a playing-card inset. It derives from the Game of Hope by Johann Kaspar Hechtel, published in Germany around 1799, and was only given Mlle Lenormand's name after her death, as a selling point. Its reading relies mainly on combinations: two or three neighboring cards form a sentence. It is used in small spreads or in the Grand Tableau.
