Petit Oracle des Dames

Also Oracle des Dames · Little Oracle of the Ladies

The Petit Oracle des Dames is a nineteenth-century French divination deck, reissued by Grimaud, made up of numbered cards decorated with small vignettes and captions whose meaning changes with the card's orientation. Originally conceived as an elegant parlor amusement, it offers brief answers about love, family or plans. Its exact date of creation and its author are still debated. It bears witness to the vogue for divinatory parlor games that accompanied the rise of cartomancy in France.
