Ceromancy
Also carromancy · wax divination
Ceromancy is divination by melted wax, from the Greek kēros, “wax.” Liquid candle wax is poured into a bowl of cold water, where it sets instantly into shapes that are interpreted as symbols. The term also covers watching how a candle burns down and drips. The practice appears in several folk traditions of Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean, often tied to year-end festivities or to young women’s questions about love.
