Pyromancy

Pyromancy is divination by fire: the shape and color of the flames, the crackling of the wood and the way an offering burns are all observed. It is attested in several ancient cultures, where the sacrificial fire served as a medium for omens. Related practices include capnomancy, which reads smoke, and gazing into a candle flame, still widespread today in ritual practice. Like every technique involving fire, it calls first and foremost for basic safety precautions.
