Reading
Also card reading · spread · card draw
A reading refers both to the act of drawing cards from a deck and to the layout in which they are placed to be interpreted. Each reading method gives a meaning to the position of every card, which makes it possible to organize the interpretation around a question. In tarot as in cartomancy, short readings, useful for a precise question, are distinguished from long ones that paint a broad picture. A reading is not a verdict: it sheds light on a situation, which the querent remains free to take on board or not.
