Stock

The stock is the pile of cards left over once the cards for the reading have been taken out. In several methods, clarification cards are drawn from it, as is the synthesis card when it is not calculated. Some cartomancers also read the bottom card of the stock. The word comes from the vocabulary of card games, where it likewise refers to the reserve from which players draw.
