Synastry is the comparative study of two natal charts, overlaid to observe the aspects between one person's planets and the other's. It is used mainly to shed light on a romantic relationship, but also on friendships, family ties or working relationships. Serious astrologers present it as a reading of points of harmony and friction, never as a verdict on a couple's future.
