Symbolic reading

Symbolic reading is a way of interpreting the cards that relies on the meanings established by tradition: symbols, numbers, colors, elements and correspondences. It provides a shared, teachable foundation, which makes it the basis of learning tarot. It can, however, become rigid when it amounts to reciting keywords. Experienced tarot readers often enrich it with close observation of the imagery and with intuition.
