Spread

A spread is the layout of a reading, that is, the arrangement of the cards and the meaning assigned to each position. It is the standard term in English-language tarot books and apps, whose influence has carried it into French-language sources as well. French readers more commonly say “tirage” or “disposition”; a Celtic Cross spread, for example, is a “croix celtique”.
