Keywords

Keywords are short lists of ideas associated with each tarot card, such as “transformation” for Death or “hope” for The Star, used as memory aids. Very helpful when learning, they have the drawback of locking a card into a single meaning. Experienced tarot readers treat them as a starting point, to be nuanced by the image itself, the question asked and the neighboring cards.
