White magic

Also benevolent magic · protective magic

In everyday language, white magic refers to ritual practices presented as benevolent, aimed at protection, symbolic healing, luck or harmony, as opposed to black magic. The line between the two is mainly moral and varies from one tradition to another. The “white magic” label is also a sales pitch: a practice that demands money to act on someone else or promises a guaranteed result has nothing benevolent about it.
