Astrological elements

The astrological elements are the four families, fire, earth, air and water, among which the twelve signs are divided, three signs to each element; they are also called triplicities. Inherited from Greek philosophy, they describe temperaments: drive and enthusiasm for fire, practicality for earth, exchange and ideas for air, sensitivity and emotion for water. Astrologers look at the balance of the elements within a chart.
