Clairaudience

Clairaudience is the claimed ability to hear sounds, words or messages that come from no physical source and that only the person concerned perceives. Mediums often describe it as an inner voice distinct from their own thoughts. It is one of the so-called “clair” abilities. It must be carefully distinguished from auditory hallucinations, which can stem from a health condition: hearing intrusive or distressing voices is a reason to see a doctor.
