Mediumship
Also mediumistic ability
Mediumship is the ability that mediums claim to have to communicate with the dead, with guides or with spiritual entities. Practitioners describe several forms: clairaudient or visual mediumship, mediumship through writing, and trance mediumship, in which the medium says they lend their voice to a spirit. It holds a central place in Allan Kardec’s Spiritism and in many religious traditions. Its reality has not been scientifically demonstrated; it is lived as a spiritual experience and must remain respectful of the bereaved.
