Telepathy

Also thought transference · mind reading

Telepathy is the supposed communication of a thought, image or emotion from one mind to another without any sensory means. The word was coined in 1882 by Frederic Myers, one of the founders of the British Society for Psychical Research. In clairvoyance, some practitioners say they pick up their client’s state of mind, or that of an absent person, in this way. The phenomenon has not been scientifically confirmed; it nonetheless holds a large place in popular culture and literature.
