Temperance

Temperance is Major Arcanum XIV of the tarot, numbered XIIII in the Tarot de Marseille and renamed Art in the Thoth deck. A winged figure pours a liquid from one vessel into another. Upright, it expresses balance, moderation, healing in the symbolic sense, patience, flow and reconciliation. Reversed, the tradition reads in it excess, impatience, imbalance or difficulty communicating. It follows Death as a calming after transformation.
