Opposition position
Also the “against” card · what opposes · crossing card
The opposition position is the place that represents what hinders, thwarts or puts strain on the situation. In the cross spread it is usually on the right; in the Celtic Cross, it is the card laid across the first one. A bright card placed there may point to inner resistance or to an excess of some quality. Opposition is not read as fate, but as a point of friction to be understood.
