Orb

The orb is the margin of tolerance, measured in degrees, within which an aspect is considered active. An exact trine measures 120 degrees; with a 6-degree orb, it counts anywhere between 114 and 126. Values vary by school and by body: wider orbs are often allowed for the Sun and the Moon. The closer an aspect is to exact, the stronger it is considered.
