Mounts of the hand

Also planetary mounts · mounts

In palmistry, the mounts are the fleshy pads of the palm, each associated with a planet and a set of qualities. Below the index finger lies the Mount of Jupiter (ambition), below the middle finger the Mount of Saturn (seriousness), below the ring finger the Mount of Apollo or of the Sun (creativity), and below the little finger the Mount of Mercury (exchange). At the base of the thumb lies the Mount of Venus; opposite it, on the edge of the hand, the Mount of the Moon; between them, the two Mounts of Mars, on either side of the Plain of Mars, which occupies the center of the palm. The prominence of each mount is read as the strength of the corresponding tendency.
