Oracle cards and tarot

The distinction between oracle cards and tarot sets apart two families of divination decks: tarot rests on a fixed structure of 78 cards, 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana, while an oracle follows nothing but the logic of its creator. Tarot carries a shared symbolic tradition, common from one deck to the next; an oracle has its own vocabulary, often more explicit, sometimes with keywords printed on the card. Many practitioners combine the two: tarot to analyze a situation, the oracle to bring out a nuance or offer advice.
