Wisdom.....

Machine translation.

Good evening, everyone,

I feel like meditating, so let’s make the most of it and be wise.

We must bow before every being we encounter, for each being is unique and possesses a cup that holds the wisdom of its experience.
If I place myself above the person I meet, they cannot pour the wine of wisdom into my own cup. If, on the contrary, I bow, their wisdom naturally flows into me, by a kind of law of spiritual gravity.
That’s what, in everyday language, we call “being attentive to others.”
It is a far more important attitude than we might think. Because no one ever crosses our path by chance.
Every being, even the most modest and even the most difficult, the worst, has something to teach us and can help us forge our character and develop in us the principle of love. In this sense, every being is a master for the other. And as long as we have conflicts with a person, it is that they still have something to teach us, that we must work, in their presence, on an aspect of our character.
In the face of every conflict, every frustration, whether at work or in love, we must get used to asking ourselves: "What is this situation, what is this person here to teach me? Why are they on my path at this moment in my life?"
And when we find the answer, a new lesson is learned, a new step is climbed on the infinite staircase of wisdom.
And the difficulty that has become useless disappears instantly. But we ignore this simple law, we do not take others into account, because we lack humility and are blinded, as if we were walking through life with a mirror in front of us in which we contemplate ourselves sterilely and which prevents us from seeing others.
That is why most people are convinced that they are the only ones who are right, and that everyone else is wrong… For this reason, there is almost never a real conversation, and all beings remain solitary, trapped in their own mental web.
Consequently, wars, small and large, persist across the centuries… because no one wants to take the time… to walk in another person’s shoes before passing judgment.

Good evening Mary!

Thank you for this wonderful text, so true!
Each of our encounters, whatever it may be, is on our path to bring us something.
It is up to us to know how to see, hear, and listen.
Nothing is useless.
Every encounter has a meaning, a message to convey to us to allow us to move forward and grow.

Besides, as proof, ever since we’ve been here, listening to one another, we’ve all made progress.
If chance brought us to this site, it was for a reason: each of us had something to offer the others.

Let us learn to see and listen to those we cross paths with.
And if we travel a stretch of the road with some people, it is because they have more to teach us and we have more to teach them.
Do not denigrate any encounter, and even less so any relationship: even if it did not end well, it gave us and taught us something.

Kisses

Hello everyone!
Yes, that is just…
So many people don't know how to listen, but even better, I prefer to say hear… We can listen without hearing; to me, that’s different! Do you understand me?
I believe we have much to learn from “negative” situations rather than positive ones… If a situation is negative, we are to blame for it… A relationship is never one-way… And that is where we must learn to recognize what this situation reflects in us… Not always easy… Pride is the worst of our enemies…
I wish you a wonderful night! Philippe!

Hello Philippe,
It’s true that many people don’t want to listen—or pretend not to listen… even though they’re listening but acting as if they’re not—is that what you meant?
I believe we all have pride.
If a relationship exists in only one direction, it seems to me that we cannot speak of a relationship, since it is not mutual. If one person invests far more than the other, can we still call it a relationship?
Have a good day,
ClaudiaC

Good evening Claudiac!
So, I wasn't clear… Please request a correction…
What I mean is that in a discussion, one of the people listens and even responds, but still hasn't heard the message that was meant to be conveyed…
Pride, I don’t know if we all have it, but when we are aware of it, we can deal with it… Or just laugh it off, and that’s better!
What I was trying to say, again, about relationships that go both ways is that too often one person shifts “the blame” onto the other and thus absolves themselves of their own responsibilities…
I hope I was clearer!
See you soon, I hope! Philippe!

Good evening Philippe,

Wisdom is not innate, but an evolution of our personality to be discovered…

Best regards
The magician.

Hello Lemagicien!
I quote you:
Wisdom is not an innate trait, but an evolution of our personality to be discovered…
I completely agree, what did you understand…?
You say too much or not enough… The exchange also helps us move forward, doesn't it?
I certainly hope I’m moving in that direction…
Best regards, Philippe!

Hello everyone,

Yes, wisdom is something we discover within ourselves, and each day, we can discover what others bring to us, learning to give to others and to listen.
Wisdom is the path forged by our attitude and our sharing with others, even if we do not know them, which allows us to move forward.

Marylena

Hello Philippe!

That is what I had understood, and your remarks led me to this reflection, in the sense that nothing is guaranteed and everything remains to be discovered, but this naturally goes through the evolution of our personality in the light.
Because wisdom, tolerance, kindness, and generosity toward others are achieved through this evolutionary process of confronting life's uncertainties, which leads us all toward this path of light—so difficult to reach, yet within everyone's reach with a little good will.

Best regards
The magician.

Hello everyone!
Yes, that's true, wisdom is cultivated, but for me, without any effort, it really has to come from within...
However, to make progress, it must not remain mere theory… We need to take action around us…
Friendly regards, Philippe!

Wisdom comes with meditation. Zazen is a wonderful tool for developing wisdom.

Hello everyone!
Today, at least, I prefer action over meditation… There is a proverb that is said to be Tibetan which goes: “The path is the same for everyone, but the means of reaching the goal vary with the traveler.”
I believe that, if I must have one thing in common with a sage, it is that I know I am not one…
Kind regards, Philippe!

Hello Philippe,
I know this very well: you talk and you get the feeling you're talking to a wall... as if the other person isn't receptive.
As for wisdom, it is a very broad term; some believe that Tibetan monks are wise, while others think that wisdom is attained with age.
By the way, is wisdom a way of thinking, an attitude?
Kind regards,
ClaudiaC

Hello Philippe,

A wise person is one who does not contradict others' reflections, but one who seeks to understand another's words through reflection.

Kind regards
The magician.

Good evening, Lemagicien!
A wise person is one who does not contradict others’ reflections, but rather seeks to understand the other’s words through reflection.
I quite like your sentence…
But is giving your opinion contradicting the other person?
One person talks and the other is supposed to “just listen”? Then it’s not a discussion…
Kind regards, Philippe!

Hello Philippe!

Giving an opinion should be seen as a reflection that leads to sharing, which means that we should not simply listen, but rather take advantage of this contradiction to discuss and exchange in harmony and in a constructive manner with the other person.

Have a good day
Best regards

The magician.

Good evening!

Wisdom is knowing when to stay silent in order to listen better!
Listening is not enough; you must add understanding to it!

Best regards

Hello everyone!
The magician, I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean!
Mamyol: “Wisdom is knowing when to stay silent in order to listen better!”
Mamyol, if we remain silent, how can we communicate… One person speaks, which one, and the others must listen without saying anything, especially if we are not in agreement on the subject… Is that what you mean?
What I like is exchanging ideas; even if I don’t agree with what others say, I still respect them. I’m not against changing my mind if I’m shown that I’m wrong!
Friendly regards, Philippe!

Excuse me, after posting, an image came to mind, so here it is:
In a room, you have a beautiful chandelier with quite a few brightly shining bulbs… A great light reigns there… But this room has its shutters closed… The light does not diffuse to the outside…
You have a small nightlight in a hallway; it shines faintly but illuminates many people…
Friendly regards, Philippe!

Hello ClaudiaC!
I hope you won’t be too upset with me for not replying to your message right away…
By the way, is wisdom a way of thinking, an attitude?
Not easy… Probably a bit of that, but I don’t think it’s just that… Thinking, attitude, for me, brings to mind a definition of “waiting,” and by nature, I’m more of a doer…
All my bright thoughts! Philippe!
