Tetramorph

The tetramorph is the group of four figures, an angel or winged man, an eagle, a lion and a bull, that frames the central character of The World. Inherited from Christian iconography, where these beings symbolize the four Evangelists, it is reinterpreted by the occult tradition as an image of the four elements or the four fixed signs of the zodiac. In tarot reading, it underscores the wholeness and achieved balance that The World represents.
