Serendipity
Serendipity is the art of making a happy discovery by chance while looking for something else entirely, and above all of recognizing it as such. The word was coined by the English writer Horace Walpole in 1754, after a Persian tale, The Three Princes of Serendip. It belongs first to the vocabulary of science and everyday life, but spirituality readily uses it alongside synchronicity to stress the openness needed to welcome the unexpected.
