Major Arcana deck

A Major Arcana deck refers to tarot practice reduced to its twenty-two Major Arcana, without the fifty-six minors. Very widespread in France, notably in popular cartomancy, this choice favors broad trends and symbolic forces over concrete details. Some esoteric decks, such as Oswald Wirth's, were at first published with the majors only. Other tarot readers add the minors to refine a reading.
