Face-down card

A face-down card is a card laid so that only its back shows, keeping its image hidden. Cards are usually drawn and laid out face down, then revealed one by one, in the order of the positions, or all at once, depending on the method. This gradual unveiling gives the reading its structure and prevents cards from being chosen for what they show.
