Soul

Also spirit · psyche

The soul refers, in many religions and philosophies, to the immaterial principle that animates a being and constitutes its deepest identity, often thought to survive the body. The word translates the Latin anima and corresponds to the Greek psyche. In psychic reading and spirituality, the soul lies at the heart of notions such as reincarnation, soulmates or the soul's path. Each tradition offers its own conception of it.
