There you go, back from Christmas at my mom's place. Last night, while I was peacefully asleep, nestled in my boyfriend's arms, I had the following dream that woke me up.
Dad, who passed away three years ago, was on his red tractor (which matched the first one he had owned in the past), reversing in his yard on a steeper slope than in reality. He had a tool hitched to the back that he was unloading. The tool caused the tractor to tip completely backward. Dad (wearing his eternal blue work jacket) was not crushed by the tractor, but rolled and hit the utility pole (which was very real in the yard).
I feared the worst and approached him to check on his condition, as I could only see his back, before calling for help. Then he said, “I’m still alive.” That relieved me, but I told him not to move and that I was going to call for help.
That’s where I woke up.
But strangely, perhaps because I was in my friend's arms, it didn't disturb me. I just thought, "I'll have to remember that." I snuggled back into my friend's arms and fell asleep peacefully again.
I don’t know who will help me interpret it, but as usual, I’m trying to translate it myself, and I’m asking you for an outside complement and opinion.
“Papa” signifies the feeling one experiences toward a man, with “father” often symbolizing marriage or at least a fulfilling romantic relationship. He is dressed in blue; blue is associated with truth and knowledge.
The tractor is a sexual symbol; it represents instinctive forces and enables the channeling of projects and the realization of ideals. It is red, and red is the color of passion, but also of anger.
The accident indicates contradictions between aspirations and the upcoming event, with injuries to self-esteem.
That the father, symbol of conjugal love, escapes from it means that I will act with discernment and succeed in controlling events, overcoming the obstacles of my new relationship in serenity.
