Good evening, everyone.
I’m coming to figure out tonight to try to find an explanation for a strange, painful, and disturbing dream I had last night, which I’m having a hard time getting over:
My dream began with the announcement of my mother’s death. I couldn’t see her body, I didn’t see a coffin: there was just that horrible feeling of losing my beloved mother :'(, a part of myself, and that anger >:(. As if she had chosen to leave, abandoning us… I remember crying into my husband, asking him how I was going to cope, how we could arrange my younger sister’s wedding now that she had left us…
It was then that doctors came to tell me that my father-in-law (my husband’s father) had been diagnosed with cancer.
I was wandering through corridors (of a hospital?) looking for something to hold on to :-[
End of the first part and, without transition, start of the second:
Facing a church like so many others in Venice, my father stands opposite me without looking at me, and a little voice in my head tells me he will be greatly surprised that I am not being led to the altar, since the man who has taken his place by my mother’s side has also resumed his role as father. My marriage, apparently: the arrival of the bridesmaids (8!!!) dressed in blue lace gowns (they were so pretty). I then realize that I am not wearing a wedding dress, nor any special outfit, and worse, that I don’t know who I am marrying (even though I am already married). Then begins a frantic race to get dressed for the occasion: I try to put on my wedding dress (the real one), but what I see does not correspond to reality, and I start running through the streets of Venice to change. I am wearing a white and gray satin dress, but I insist on getting rid of it; it seems inappropriate, not neat. I enter a shop and ask to be sold another dress, which turns out to be less pretty and too small. In tears, I flee the shop and run, in swirls of gray and white, to the building where I burst in and… nothing more.
I woke up with a start, in tears, and had a terrible day (no doubt about it, the idea of my mother's death).
Do you have the slightest idea of what this nonsense is about?
Thank you for sharing your interpretations, which will certainly help me improve.
