The celibacy of priests

Machine translation.

Hello everyone,

As the subject indicates, what do you think about the fact that priests are bound to celibacy, which is the subject of much debate in society?

It would be nice to know what your reactions are regarding this, whether you are for or against it, and the reason why.

This subject, which is currently causing problems within the Catholic Church, sees many priests having hidden romantic relationships, others breaking their vows for a romantic union, and many refusing a ministry and refusing to be a priest precisely because of celibacy.
Soon there will be no more priests; most of them are elderly, people have less faith and do not attend church.
Today's society has led to the disappearance of faith; it is also worth noting that church attendance is notably composed of people over 50, with young people being rare.

As for the celibacy of priests, I am against it; a man can devote himself just as much to God as to a family, as we see with pastors, Anglican priests, and others.
and a priest is a man who needs tenderness and love just as much as anyone else, why
deny them that status?
I have great faith, but I must confess that I have always hated the popes…
There is a lot to say, and it can be a fascinating subject to share between us.

Have a good day, everyone

Hello my beautiful Marylena,

Thank you for this new thread and for opening up the debate.

I will be the first to reply to you, and others will follow…

For my part, I am against the celibacy of priests, and even of women and men in general.
The reason, or rather the reasons, against being single:

  1. Islam, in fact, forbids isolation and not getting married, as this is not in accordance with the norms of the religion. Only God is alone and equal to Himself, but human beings are not God and have needs that must be fulfilled through union, marriage, and the relationship between woman and man.
  2. It is not right to repress one's desires and needs, because constantly repressing one's desires leads to sexual deviance (such as pedophilia by priests, homosexual relationships, etc.)
  3. God did not demand chastity and does not require all His subjects to marry.
  4. God created woman and man to be two, for sexual relations, but also to have children to perpetuate the human race.

Religion is faith, it is a lifestyle choice, and one can live without having to take vows of chastity, which should not diminish the faith and the path in life one has chosen.

Big kisses
Ladysally
