Its structure, its role. How to use it?
For any serious esotericist, this language is self-evident and the only one capable of translating the thoughts of philosophy.
The purpose of this language is to help us understand the intimate laws of Nature, to realize the reason for our existence and our Destiny on this planet.
After these few clarifications, let us explain ourselves.
In everyday language, a sentence generally expresses a single thought, whether in a literal, metaphorical, analogical, or figurative sense.
In esoteric language, every word has x different meanings, so each sentence also contains x various significations. You will ask me why complicate things when we all seek to understand?
The first reason for this diversity of expression lies in the fact that “everything is in everything,” as the philosophers say. The construction of the universe in its “subtle” principle is comparable to the construction of a planet as well as to the construction of man, and so on, ad infinitum.
Everything is structured in the same way, in the infinitely large as in the infinitely small, in the Spiritual as in the Material, “As above, so below…” Hermes tells us…
…hence the obligatory versatility of esoteric language. We can even say that any expression containing no more than one meaning is not esotericism but simply an “interpretation” of a single thought of esotericism.
It follows that it is impossible to create a dictionary, lexicon, glossary, or any other work of the same kind devoted to esoteric language. It would be tantamount to "cutting the wings of the bird."
Limiting the meaning of a word in esotericism to a rigid definition is tantamount to stripping it of all the levels of expression that the Philosopher had embedded in that word to help us perceive his Thought.
The second reason is that one must have the “Gift of Tongues,” that is, speak at the level of the interlocutor. Each of us on the Path is at a different level. Thus, esotericism always conceives its texts with care to include the various levels of the construction of the Universe in the subject it proposes to treat, as well as the polysemy of words, so that its ideas are understood by as many people as possible.
In reality, and particularly in our highly materialistic era, few works truly deal with esotericism. If GEOMETRY, NUMBERS, and SYMBOLISM are not present in a text claiming to be “esoteric,” one may question its value!
How to Use It? To understand this language, it is first necessary to clear the mind, to set aside all our preconceptions, and above all not to “intellectualize” what we are reading. A sensitive and attentive “herdsman” is sometimes better able to understand because he is not “burdened” by any literature on the subject. Let us therefore be simple and persevering, and all will become “clear.” It will also be very useful to read these texts aloud. Sooner or later, these conditions combined will end up “opening the rock.”
It is quite difficult to work alone (but it is not impossible). The exchange of ideas in small groups is always beneficial. That is the reason for the existence of certain esoteric workshops.
All times, men “pass through” to help us understand Life. They are “here” or “elsewhere.” Intuition helps us recognize them and thus work on what they have left us.
I would conclude this piece of corrective Architecture with two thoughts from a philosopher and great esotericist who recently passed away.
Esotericism, by definition, holds multiple meanings within a single phrase. Today, unfortunately, it is more difficult than in the past to make it perfectly understood, since language has become primarily utilitarian, often to the detriment of the depths of the Word.
The Sacred language flows from top to bottom, and the profane from bottom to top.
Have a good day
