Excerpt from the book “The Perfect Marriage” by Samael Aun Weor
God as Father is Wisdom. God as Mother is Love.
God as Father dwells in the eye of Wisdom; the eye of Wisdom is located in the space between the eyebrows. God as Love is located in the Heart-Temple.
Wisdom and Love are the two fundamental pillars of the Grand White Lodge.
To love, how beautiful it is to love. Only great souls can and do know how to love. Love is infinite tenderness. Love is the life that throbs in every atom as it throbs in every sun.
Love cannot be defined, for it is the Divine Mother of the World; it is what befalls us when we are truly in love.
Love is felt at the very core of the heart; it is a vivid and delightful experience. It is a consuming fire, a divine nectar that intoxicates those who drink of it. A simple perfumed handkerchief, a letter, a flower, stir at the root of the soul sublime emotions, unusual ecstasies, ineffable voluptuousness.
No one has ever been able to define love. It must be lived, it must be felt.
Only great lovers truly know what this thing called Love is.
The Perfect Marriage is the union of two beings who truly know how to love. For there to be genuine love, it is necessary that the man and the woman devote themselves to the seven great cosmic planes.
For love to exist, there must be a true communion of the soul in the three spheres of Thought, Feeling, and Will.
When the two beings vibrate in harmony in their thoughts, feelings, and volitions, the Perfect Marriage is then realized on the seven planes of cosmic consciousness.
There are people who are married on the physical and etheric planes, but not on the astral plane. Others are married on the physical, etheric, and astral planes, but not on the mental plane; each thinks in their own way; the woman has one religion and the man another; they do not agree on what they think.
There are marriages that are harmonious in the plans of thought and feeling but absolutely opposed in the world of will. These marriages are full of conflicts; they are not happy.
The Perfect Marriage must take place on the seven planes of cosmic consciousness. There are marriages that do not even reach the astral plane; in such cases, there is not the slightest sexual attraction; these marriages are true failures. Marriages of this type are based exclusively on the marriage contract.
Some people lead a marital life on the physical plane with a specific spouse, and on the mental plane they lead a marital life with a different spouse. It is very rare to encounter a Perfect Marriage in life. For there to be love, there must be an affinity of thoughts, feelings, and wills.
Where calculation and interest exist, there is no love. Unfortunately, in modern life, in our world of bank accounts, haggling, and celluloid, love is trampled underfoot. In those households where only accounts and calculations exist, there is no love.
When love leaves the heart, it is hard to bring back. Love is a very shy child.
A marriage entered into without love, based solely on economic or social interests, is truly a sin against the Holy Spirit. Marriages of this kind inevitably fail.
Lovers often confuse desire with love, and the worst of it is that they marry believing they are in love. Once the sexual act is consummated, once the carnal passion is satisfied, then comes the disenchantment, and then remains the terrible reality.
Lovers must analyze themselves before getting married to determine whether they are truly in love. Passion is easily confused with love. Love and desire are absolutely opposed.
The one who is truly in love is capable of giving even the last drop of their blood for the beloved.
Examine yourself before you marry. Do you feel capable of giving up to the last drop of your blood for the one you adore? Would you be willing to give your life so that the one you adore may live? Reflect and meditate.
Is there a true affinity of thoughts, feelings, and wills with the one you adore? Remember that if this complete affinity does not exist, then your marriage will be a true hell rather than heaven. Do not let yourself be led by desire. You must kill not only the desire but even the shadow of the tree of the desire that tempts you.
