Here is the context.
I was just starting to date someone. We were out with their parents and my cousins.
Me and Chris were smiling at each other, patting each other on the knee, on the shoulder…
His parents go out for a drink, leaving us alone with my cousins. And he and I are trying to figure out how to let my cousins know that we want to be alone for a cuddle.
The moment we find ourselves alone, we embrace; her parents call in an emergency, saying there’s a problem and that he has to leave…
