THE FRIEND

Machine translation.

SOMETIMES through a paper-folding game one can tell the story of friendship

The Crane and the Friend
Cranes have a funny head. Ruffled wings, stretched necks,

They chatter and swirl in the blue sky above my head.

What a toccata! A cacophony of hoarse, piercing cries!

A feathered concert!

In turn, they break away from the group and dive at me.

With each pass, behind the silver gleam of their beaks,

You can clearly see their little indignant eyes.

Not without reason.

This is the first time an outsider has dared to represent them in folded paper.
And their dignity takes a major hit…
The skimming birds swooped down on me.
Onset of panic.

Arms over my head to protect myself from the attacks.
No problem!
The old man's life is woven from these fortuitous incidents that forever shape memories.

Yet the essence is the twinkling of the stars in the gray dawn,
The scent of friendship to come, the enchanting perfume of hope, and the purity of the friendly world as well.

The obsessive sharing of the curves of the friendly round and the roughness of the unexpected in a still untouchable friendship.

When evening falls and the old man’s house is nothing but a shadow, and a last surge of sunlight strikes the old man’s gaze, wringing from him the words, “How magnificent it must be to know a friend!”

Because he can’t think of anything better to say… and that deep sigh, which in turn becomes the long-awaited friend,

in his dreams and those nights fringed with hope..

The deserted island of imaginary friends, or the inward journey of a friend to imagine

to be made.

Only a child knows how to create friendship,
And, like a kite at the mercy of the wind, soaring through the swirls of these spontaneous and naive notes,

From a comrade,

D’un partage riant : faits de bouts de ficelles et de bouts de rires qui au fond de la bouche rend l’ami sucré et les ailes des grues infinies.

The old man, having become a child again, reinvents the world to his own scale, because, wherever his gaze falls, he embraces its limits.
and that he needs nothing to exist but to desire the friend who in turn becomes this other of himself.

I like the idea that I will have a friend!

And that I would not be enough to bear the greatness of these friendships…

Thank you all for sharing this

LOLLY

Dearest Lolly!

Friendship!
What a perfect way to love!
They say that true friends can be counted on one hand.
I must admit that for me this turns out to be perfectly true, or rather I have too many fingers!

I don't have your pen for poetic musings on friendship, or at least these days mine is rather lazy. However, I have a few quotes in reserve:

Friendship is always beneficial, love is sometimes harmful (Seneca).

Friendship sometimes ends in love, but love rarely ends in friendship (C.C. Colton).

Offering friendship to one who wants love is like giving bread to one who is dying of thirst (Spanish proverb).

Love and friendship are mutually exclusive (La Bruyère).

Love is within everyone's reach, but friendship is the trial of the heart (A. d'Houdetot).

"Total friendship is universal. And only universal friendship can be total friendship. Any particular bond lacks depth if it is not open to universal friendship." (Jean Guitton)

True friendship is like a star: it truly shines only when we go through the darkest moments of our lives.

"Friendship doubles joys and halves sorrows." (Francis Bacon)

"The role of a friend is to stand by your side when you are wrong, since everyone will be on your side when you are right." (Mark Twain)

"Friendship circles the world and invites us all to awaken to a happy life." (Epicurus)

Men no longer have time to know anything. They buy ready-made things at the stores. But as there are no stores that sell friends, men no longer have any friends.

There are plenty of others, but for you, who writes children’s stories, I’ll stick with the fox’s words; I’ve always had a soft spot for him, and what a lesson in friendship he offers in that tale.
Having a rose for a friend, isn't that wonderful!

Cheers to you, my friend.
